The Victoria Partnership
One of the VEDC’s greatest resources is the Victoria Partnership.
To answer the community’s desire for inclusion in the economic development process, on September 12, 2000 VEDC began holding regularly scheduled meetings for both community leaders and citizens at large. The meetings are open to anyone with a role or interest in the economic development process. These informal weekly meetings are held each Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. and present an opportunity for participants to share ideas regarding economic development relevant topics ranging from community assets, the economic development process, to education, or just general announcements.
With the exception of the year-end holidays, 30-50 people meet each Tuesday morning to share a cup of coffee and conversation. When Texas Department of Agriculture Commissioner Susan Combs learned of our meetings, she opted to hold one of her town hall meetings with the Partnership and joined us in Victoria at 7:30 a.m.
The Victoria Partnership is clearly in the right place at the right time with the right agenda.
