The Calhoun Port Authority, just 30 miles from Victoria, is the site of a recently completed $65 million expansion. The Port includes a 1,000-foot liquid cargo ship pier, a liquid barge terminal facility, and a 506-foot heavy lift dock.

Additionally, the latest environmental and fire fighting controls are in place, making the Port one of the most advanced shipping terminals in the world. Port facilities are located near the western terminus of the 24-mile-long Matagorda Ship Channel, which has an operating depth of 36 feet.
